Alaleh Ahmadian
I am currently a Research Scientist at Meta.
I obtained my Ph.D. in Computer Science at Washington State University where I was advised by Prof. Jana Doppa. During my Ph.D. I spent some time as a machine learning engineer intern at Meta. Previously, I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Sharif University of Technology (Tehran, Iran).
My general research interests are in machine learning and its applications to real-world problems, optimization, and sequential decision-making under uncertainty with applications to real-world problems in engineering and scientific domains. I utilize ML methods and design optimization algorithms to solve specific real-world problems where there is usually limited data available, there are multiple functions that should be optimized simultaneously, the functions are black box and expensive-to-evaluate, and when existing optimization methods fail to work.
